Former US President Donald Trump is set to launch a new social media platform, called Truth Social. He says the platform will “stand up to the tyranny of “Big Tech.” The move comes almost a year after Donald trump was banned from Twitter, Facebook and You Tube following riots at the US capitol in January.

“I created Truth Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech,” he said in the press release.

“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American president has been silenced. This is unacceptable.”

But what do we know about Truths.

Just like it’s biggest rival, posts will be called TRUTHs.

The social app will launched in November with a wider rollout early next year. However, a link to the website directs users to sign up for a wait list or to pre-order the app via the Apple App Store.

Users took to twitter to express their satisfaction of the new platform.

The social media application is the first project from the new Trump Media & Technology Group. According to the release, the group intends to launch a subscription video-on-demand service which would would feature “non-woke” entertainment programming, news and podcasts.

The company has projected success based on the growth of digital media and Trump’s previous following of over 146 million users across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

While some may have doubts about Trump’s social network, the new media company was the most traded name on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday. This was after the completion of a merger between TMTG and Digital World Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).
